About Chris Becker

Born and raised in Minnesota, Chris Becker studied photography at Ohio University before moving to New York City, where he assisted established photographers. After working in Taiwan, he returned to Minnesota, collaborating with Honeywell, advertising agencies, and leading travel magazines.

Chris later returned to New York City, exhibiting in galleries and deepening his commitment to fine art photography. He now lives on the coast of Maine, operating a working studio and gallery in Kennebunkport.

Rooted in fine art and editorial documentary traditions, Chris captures the subtle interplay of light, movement, and time. He describes his work as “a study of time made visible,” using long exposures and intentional camera movement to reveal the energy of landscapes. Drawn to the tension between natural and constructed environments, his lens explores the quiet drama of the New England coast, city streets across the U.S., and overlooked spaces abroad.
